Be the Difference: How Belonging Unlocks and Redefines “Success”
What determines whether someone thrives or quietly burns out? Is it resilience? Grit? Talent? Or is it something far more human: feeling seen, supported, and valued? In this powerful and personal keynote, Gaelin Elmore challenges the myth that success is only an individual responsibility. Drawing from his life story and years of research-informed work on belonging, Gaelin reframes well-being as a shared cultural practice rooted in connection and care. Rather than focusing on “his successes,” Gaelin reveals how the presence (or absence) of belonging shaped his past, present, and future. He demonstrates how small, intentional acts of support from others became the difference between collapse and possibility. His message is clear: belonging does not come from one more initiative. It comes from environments where people feel safe to be vulnerably authentic and supported to be whole. This keynote calls educators and leaders to become people who CARE because belonging is the difference between exhaustion and endurance, isolation and resilience, surviving and thriving!
